The calico pieces shed an overall lighter plank of wood with thinner darker tree markings lining the length of each plank. Some planks offer widely contrasting tree growth markings that alternate in the planks. Some offer mostly straight tree markings patterns with others offering variety with curved or even blurred lines. The hand scraping makes these pieces look like warm, inviting and solid.
