Cumaru

Cumaru is a unique species that lightens in color over time. This wood ranges in colors from medium to dark brown with potentially red or purplish undertones. Overall, this wood has a tight grain with growth tree patterns that appear more rubbed and wavy rather than thin and straight.  The seeds of this tree give off scents similar to vanilla, almonds, cloves or cinnamon and in some religious practices are believed to have healing properties.
